War Units Associations Provided Support for the Work of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska

Representatives of several associations of wartime units of the Army of the Republic of Srpska visited the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska today and expressed support for its work and mission of preserving the truth about the suffering and struggle of the Serbian people in the Defense-Patriotic War.

The delegations included representatives of the Citizens’ Association “1st Battalion of Military Police of the 1st Krajina Corps”, led by Vlado Palačković, President of the Board of Directors; the Association of Veterans of the 16th Krajina Motorized Brigade “Club 16” Banja Luka, represented by Nedeljko Mađar, President of the Association, and Miomir Šakić, President of the Board of Directors.

Support for the work of the Memorial Center was also given by the Association of the 1st Armored Brigade, led by Nebojša Keser, President of the Association, as well as the Association of Veterans of the 43rd Prijedor Motorized Brigade and their descendants, whose representatives were Branko Vasilić, President of the Association, Draško Vujić, President of the Assembly, and Čedo Šipovac, Secretary of the Association.

Support was also expressed by the Association of Veterans of the 2nd Krajina Brigade, headed by Goran Arambašić.

The representatives of these associations emphasized that they will make additional efforts to systematically collect and record testimonies of all those whose fate bears witness to the suffering and struggle of the Serbian people in the coming period, stressing that preserving personal stories and memories is the foundation of future truth and national remembrance.

The Director of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska, Denis Bojić, thanked the representatives of the associations for their support and emphasized that it is a joint task of institutions and organizations to ensure that testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people are collected, preserved, and presented to future generations.

“This support carries deep moral and historical significance. It shows that there is unity in the understanding that the truth must be recorded, told, and preserved. Every testimony is a part of our history. Together we are working to keep that mosaic complete and truthful, because without remembrance there is no future either,” Bojić stated.

The Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska expressed gratitude to the associations for their support and understanding of the importance of this project, pointing out that it is a joint mission of the entire people – to preserve the voice of truth, justice, and the sacrifice of the Republic of Srpska for future generations.
