Danijela Mrda and Dietmar Cziesla visited the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska.

The Director of the Archive of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Danijela Mrda, and the representative of the FamilySearch organization, Dietmar Cziesla, visited the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska today, where a working meeting was held with representatives of the Memorial Center.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on current issues in the field of archival science, with a special focus on the digitization of archival material, its long-term preservation, and the improvement of access to historical sources. Discussions were also held on modern technological solutions in the processing and management of archival material, as well as on the importance of oral history in the context of documenting and preserving historical memory.

FamilySearch is a global organization engaged in the collection, digitization, and accessibility of genealogical and historical records worldwide. Through its digital platforms, it enables users to access extensive databases and archival material. The interlocutors assessed that such meetings are significant for the exchange of expert knowledge and for following contemporary trends in the field of archival activities.
