SRNA: DENIS BOJIĆ – “The Establishment of a Multimedia Museum – a Strategic Interest of the Republic of Srpska”

BANJA LUKA, MAY 30 /SRNA/ – The Acting Director of the Public Institution Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, Denis Bojić, told Srna that the documentation and video recording of testimonies from families of fallen fighters of the Army of Republika Srpska and civilians during the Defense-Patriotic War is currently underway, and that the establishment of a multimedia museum is of strategic interest to the Serbian people.

He thanked the institutions, and especially the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, for their support in founding and operating the Memorial Center.

“The most important thing is the establishment of a multimedia museum dedicated to the creation of Republika Srpska. We are currently dealing with the prerequisites for creating the museum. One of them is to collect as much material as possible that will become part of the museum collection,” Bojić emphasized in Srna’s podcast.

He noted that Serbian families were not prepared for the war conflicts of the 1990s, which is evident from the testimonies collected by the Center, pointing out that their neighbors from other nations knew of a different scenario.

“We did not heed those signs and we suffered the consequences. It all began with dismissals, isolation. The story of the Serbian family is identical, regardless of the location, which clearly shows that the Serbian people were not prepared for what was coming,” Bojić said.

Bojić also spoke about cooperation with institutions of Republika Srpska and Serbia that have recognized the importance of producing films with national themes, about the need for more feature content on the theme of Serbian suffering in the past century, as well as about the education system that will have at its disposal the testimonies collected in the Memorial Center’s project.
