Memorandum of Cooperation Signed Between the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska and UDAS

Today, in the premises of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Memorial Center and UDAS – the Organization of Amputees of the Republic of Srpska. This agreement establishes official cooperation in recording testimonies of war military invalids, amputees, and mine victims, within the national project of preserving the historical memory of the Serbian people.

The Memorandum was signed by the Director of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska, Denis Bojić, and the President of UDAS, Željko Volaš, who on this occasion emphasized that this is one of the most important projects for the Serbian people as a whole.

“This is an opportunity for many of our comrades, amputees, and mine victims to publicly share their personal fate, pain, and truth that has long been suppressed for the first time. It will be an honor and pleasure for UDAS to give our full contribution to this historical endeavor, because remembrance is the foundation of our survival,” Volaš stated.

The Director of the Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska, Denis Bojić, stressed that cooperation with UDAS represents a natural and important step in expanding the culture of remembrance and documenting the destinies that have shaped the identity of the Republic of Srpska.

“The testimonies of our war military invalids are not just personal stories – they are living documents of history that bear witness to the sacrifice, faith, and strength of our people. It is our task to preserve their voice and make it a permanent part of our collective memory,” Bojić emphasized.

He added that the testimonies will become part of the digital database established by the Memorial Center, which will be translated into several foreign languages so that people in the Serbian diaspora will have the opportunity to speak argumentatively about the suffering of Serbs in the past war. Volaš announced full support from UDAS to collect as many testimonies as possible about the casualties, mine victims, as well as the war traumas these people endured.

The signing of the Memorandum was also attended by the President of the Association of Konjic Residents of the Republic of Srpska, Zoran Pologoš, who pointed out that the Association has been working for many years on documenting crimes against Serbs from the Konjic area and surrounding places through publications, books, and television programs. He also announced future cooperation with the Memorial Center in recording testimonies of people from Konjic.

The signing of this Memorandum opens a new space for cooperation in the areas of documentation, education, and the culture of remembrance. The Memorial Center of the Republic of Srpska continues to expand its network of partners in the implementation of its key project – recording testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people.
