At the Solemn Academy on May 19, the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska will present the largest and most comprehensive database of audio-visual testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people.<\/p>\n

This is one of the most significant national projects in the field of preserving the culture of remembrance, representing a lasting contribution to the entire Serbian people.<\/p>\n

This unique project represents a significant source of social, scientific, and institutional knowledge about the suffering of the Serbian people, through the testimonies of family members of killed and missing civilians and soldiers from the Defensive-Fatherland War, as well as all those who, through their life stories, bear witness to the suffering and struggle.<\/p>\n

The database includes testimonies from the territory of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia (especially from Kosovo and Metohija), the former Republic of Serbian Krajina and Croatia, as well as testimonies about the genocide against Serbs in the NDH (1941\u20131945) during the Second World War.<\/p>\n

In this way, continuity of the culture of remembrance, oral history, and systematic documentation of historical sufferings is established.<\/p>\n

Director of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, Denis Boji\u0107, stated on the occasion of the Solemn Academy that the special significance of this database is that, for the first time, it systematically gathers in one place audio-visual testimonies about the suffering of Serbs across the entire territory of the former Yugoslavia.<\/p>\n

This is one of the key national projects in the field of the culture of remembrance, which, due to its scope, systematic nature, and methodological foundation, has the potential to become a central reference point for scientific research, educational processes, and the public use of historical knowledge.<\/p>\n

The database of testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people will be officially opened as part of the Solemn Academy of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, on May 19 at 1:00 PM in Banja Luka, at Banski dvor.<\/p>\n

This is an event of national importance, at which the presence of officials from Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbia, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, representatives of organizations stemming from the Defensive-Fatherland War, the academic community, culture, and public life is expected.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, May 17, in the evening hours, a multimedia presentation and video mapping of testimonies and portraits of fighters will be held in Banja Luka at the Central Memorial to the Fallen Fighters in the Defensive-Fatherland War.<\/p>\n

This presentation goes beyond classical forms of marking and commemoration, as through modern technology and authentic testimonies it brings the fates of the fallen closer in a direct and deeply human way, restoring their name, face, and voice.<\/p>\n
