The Director of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, Denis Boji\u0107, and the Mayor of Lakta\u0161i, Miroslav Boji\u0107, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which formalizes joint work on preserving the culture of remembrance and collecting testimonies about the suffering of the Serbian people during the Defensive-Fatherland War. The signing of the Memorandum was also attended by the President of the Republika Srpska Association of Families of Captured and Killed Fighters and Missing Civilians, Isidora Graorac.<\/p>\n
The Mayor of Lakta\u0161i, Miroslav Boji\u0107, emphasized that the City of Lakta\u0161i supports the project of recording audio-visual testimonies implemented by the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska.\n\u201cWe support this project and I believe that all families of the fallen will respond and provide their testimonies, and that all these recordings will be shown to younger generations in schools and all other educational institutions through documentary films.\u201d\nHe expressed confidence that this project will be supported by all local communities in Republika Srpska and stressed that this is the only way to preserve the memory of the Serbian heroes who gave their lives for Republika Srpska.<\/p>\n
The Director of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, Denis Boji\u0107, stated that the goal of the Center is to record all possible and available testimonies from the closest relatives.\n\u201cTestimonies should become part of the largest digital database on the suffering of the Serbian people. Digital testimonies reduce the possibility of manipulation and historical revisionism,\u201d Boji\u0107 told reporters.\nHe thanked the Mayor of Lakta\u0161i for supporting the activities and the project of the Memorial Center of Republika Srpska, in which, as he noted, a large number of cities and municipalities are participating \u2014 Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Doboj, Bratunac, Zvornik, Isto\u010dno Sarajevo \u2014 places where a large number of members of the Serbian people were killed.<\/p>\n
Savo Bili\u0107, the father of a fallen fighter of the Army of Republika Srpska, said that this project is important for preserving the memory of the fallen Serbian fighters.<\/p>\n
